As my wife and I travelled the long road to Memel where Theunis and Carmien would make their vows, we were overcome by the beauty of this part of the South African landscape, open farmlands and windpompe. This was no ordinary wedding, as we arrived on the farm the Friday evening, there was a scurry of people, everyone had a job to do. Neighbouring farmers were there and everyone was prepared to work till early hours just to make sure this wedding would take place the following morning. When we arrived the following day, the farm had been transformed as the bride drove down the long dusty road in a volksie to meet her groom, the many hours of preparation put into making this wedding happen had been worth the effort. What a special day, perfect weather, stunning food catered by The Upper Crust and jovial celebration all around. May you never forget this day, where many hands worked hard to make it so unique and special. May your love stay unique.
