Praise God for little Lael

I haven’t had much time for blogging in 2016, with our kids being so small and still enjoying so much of our attention. But the story of Lael I do want to blog…to praise our God for His grace and goodness in Lael’s life.

Lael’s parents, Werner and Jeanine, are in our wider family in Christ. They fell pregnant more or less at the same time we did, so it was really special for me! God’s plan for our baby was only a short life in my womb, which we also have so much to be thankful for. For Lael it was also much shorter than the normal 9 months, so he had to be born on the 19th of August, with a very little weight of 1.51kg! Looking at this from a worldly view, one would be anxious and under so much pressure emotionally. But that was not the case with Werner and Jeanine and our family of believers. We could remain in our joyful and peaceful state and trust God’s sovereign plan with Lael’s life. The first 7 weeks of his life after birth was such an amazing journey with this family, to be able to pray together for the necessary strength and wisdom from God…and to see how faithful God would strengthen and grow his little body and shine the light of His glory through the weekly updates of the parents.

Werner and Jeanine, thank you for your beautiful testimony of your trust and contentment in God’s plan for Lael. I pray that God will continue to use this testimony for His glory…may He not only saved his life, but also save his soul. Love you all soooo much! Lucinda
