George & Marie-Alet – Always with a gentle loving touch
We couldn’t wait to do George & Marie-Alet’s wedding! I had such a lovely time shooting them while they were still engaged, also for the purpose of their guestbook on their wedding day. Marie-Alet is such a gentle person and naturally just so beautiful and feminine.
Their wedding day was very beautiful and really precious to get to know their wider family as well. Marie-Alet is the youngest and very beloved by her parents and older brothers and sisters. George also has a big family who is close to him. True to John Meyburgh’s floral design, the chapel was dramatically filled with lots of flowers! The weather was pressurising us all the time while we did the couple photos and we had very little time and light to do our thing. But nevertheless, we got very stunning shots to tell the story of their love for each other.
Unfortunately a very sad thing happened to me after the wedding. The worst I’ve ever experienced in the many years of my professional career as wedding photographer! I lost all the digital images that was taken during the preparation phase of their wedding day, everything that was taken before the ceremony. The moment you realise that there is nothing in the world you can do to recover the images, the finality of it all hits very hard. The only thing that I can hold onto is my faith in God’s sovereign plan for each of us involved and His promise that He will work all things together for our good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28). We thank God for the rest of their beautiful images and that we were protected from loosing everything. We are greatful also for our videography that can still give them a complete memory of their whole day…more than photography can do! And we praise God for every good and bad thing that comes out of His hand (Job 2:10b).
George & Marie-Alet, thank you for the unforgettable day that we could spend together and for your beautiful love for each other! We wish you all the best for your life together and we hope to be able to keep contact with you and share in all the happy moments to come! This is a piece of God’s truth that I would like to share with you, to keep with you and to direct you as a unity in Christ:
