From Detroit to Venda – Cordell & Rabe
We never had the privilege to meet Cordell and Rabe before their wedding day, because they stay in the USA (Detroit, Michigan). But the wonderful journey we already started with Rabe’s mother, Latani, was truly precious to me.
So when the time finally arrived for us to travel up to the North, my excitement was twofold…to meet the rest of Latani’s family and serve them with our love and talents, as well as to be back in my hometown, Louis Trichardt (now known as Makhado). I grew up on a farm between Louis Trichardt and Tzaneen. Rabe in return, grew up in the beautiful Venda and therefor also wanted to celebrate her roots and her people with this occasion. And faithful to this sub-tropical part of South-Africa, at the southern foot of the Soutpansberg Mountain range, we had lots of clouds and soft rain from time to time, which saved the day from being unbearably hot!
Cordell and Rabe, thank you that we could get to know you closer. As expected, you were such an enjoyable couple to work with. Despite a few time challenges, you were such a pleasure to work with. Your love for each other and your ability to still have fun and make the most of your time, is a blessing. Your wedding was different in so many ways and I enjoyed this fact. It was your wedding day…unique and personal, just like you are. We trust that all your guests and family were soooo blessed by your visit and your wedding celebration! It was very clear, that although you stay on the other side of the world, there is a lot of Vendas who support you and love you, and will walk the extra mile to be with you.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ – Colossians 3:23-24
