Eugene & Leanne – We sing halleluja in Nieu-Bethesda!

Nieu-Bethesda is a tiny village in the foothills of the Sneeuberg Mountains. Many call it ‘The Village that time forgot’ with it’s old houses, dusty tree lined streets, water flowing through stony furrows, brilliant night skies and a pervading sense of peace. It was here that the beauty of the Karoo captured Eugene’s heart and kept calling him back from the fast paced world. The day when he met Leanne, he immediately knew he wanted to marry her, but he hadn’t had it easy. For 6 years he waited for her, often returning to Nieu-Bethesda to talk to God about this free-spirited girl. Until she finally declared her love as well and awaited him with the message “Mnr. Botes, I am your wife!”. Since they got engaged in a tree lane, they searched for the perfect tree lane to celebrate their wedding feast.

It was here that they found the beautiful farm, Ganora, just outside Nieu-Bethesda! So what more do you want? …the place where you’ve lost your heart; found the answer to your love and the most amazing lane of Poplar trees await you. Eugene and Leanne, we can’t thank you enough for the oppurtunity to capture your wedding celebration. Initially we thought, and I’m sure we we’re not the only ones…’what are we doing in this dusty place?’ But we soon realised that their is a sort of healing or blessing or honesty that meets you in this town and changes you for good. Coming home and sharing our footage and images with the rest of our team, left them also with this yearning to visit Nieu-Bethesda and it’s people. God’s richest blessings to you.
