Celebrating God’s LOVE for His Bride – Pieter & Rika

We were so excited to share the weekend with Pieter & Rika, on the family farm and private lodge, Bona Bona (past Klerksdorp).  Right from the start, their unyielding love for each other was evident.  Little did I know what I was about to experience within their love.

The Saturday was an interesting day weatherwise… windy, sunny, drizzling, showers and then…a rare sight of a double rainbow and a sky that lit up in a dramatic way…as if God’s promise through any kind of weather was confirmed for this couple.

Their gift to every guest was a beautiful wooden cross and the message at their ceremony was clearly that the cross was an act of the Father’s LOVE for us and that Jesus, on the cross, exchanged all our works and self efforts for God’s grace; His overwhelming GRACE that sets us free!  It was then that God revealed something beautiful to me in their wedding day.

In so many ways, they could’ve felt discouraged by unfortunate events: pouring rain just when they were ready to meet each other beforehand, power failure, sound issues, a burning candle getting out of hand etc.  BUT far greater than that, was the things they believe in.  A bridegroom testifying of a supernatural love for his bride from the first day he laid eyes on her; a love he knew that could only come from the Father.  And a bride confirming and responding in all her beauty, the joy she finds in this LOVE…evergrowing in its nature, healing and protecting and caring for her; it always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Pieter & Rika, I believe God has called you and instilled in your relationship, the Good News of 1 John 3:16.  And already ‘nothing can quench your love’.  May it always ‘burn like blazing fire, like a mighty flame’ (Song of Songs 8:6).  Lots of love! Lucinda
