Now a Young Lady in the Lord – McKenna @16

James White posted this morning: “When a women veils her body in modesty she is not hiding herself from men, she’s revealing her dignity to them!”

My husband shared it with me this morning and I find the statement so powerful, especially while setting up this post. McKenna Mack is the oldest child in a beautiful godly family we have in our wider church family. And now she has turned 16 and we can’t really refer to her as a child anymore. She has become a beautiful young lady and what a special occasion this was to me, to celebrate her 16th year in this shoot. Would love to photograph her again at 21! …may her inward beauty continue to grow and praise her Saviour as His work is increasing in her heart.

Ourselves as a family, have received so much mercy from God, not reckoning to us the wrath of God’s judgement over our sinful lives that we have lived for so many years. And on top of that, we can taste His goodness in His amazing grace that He is giving, undeserved grace, giving us a chance at a very late stage in our lives, to extend our family and raise children for the Lord. And in this process, the Mack family has been a great inspiration to us and taught us beautiful lessons for godliness. And what an honour to get to know McKenna a bit closer. While we did our shoot, our younger kids were playing around us and it was beautiful to see how she, being the oldest of 9, could not resist to give attention to them. I was thankful, even for mom, because it helped me to get a bit further in our shoot and capture the spontaneous side of McKenna, that beautiful bubbly personality that her friends testify of.

I feel very honoured to capture a young lady like you…you are blessed to be able to know God the way you do, at this age. May your 16th year in life be a testimony to the world of what true modesty and beauty is. Praise God for your life!
