Thabazimbi…..Gerhard & Hanlè
Early Saturday morning 5 July 2008 at 6.00 am and very cold i left Centurion while the sun was just saying hello to the world. On my way to Thabazimbi ! Where? Yes Thabazimbi! Never been there but so excited with the right directions in place and about two to three hours drive (depending on what my eyes will catch to capture on the way) from Centurion.
Thabazimbi is about 150km from Brits and 130km from Rustenburg north northwest. A town surrounded by mines that carries a lot of minerals and platinum etc. Beautiful town with a lot of African wild running through the streets and locals doing their Saturday shopping.
Arrived at about 9.30am checking in at the Lalisa guest house with a warm welcome by Tony the Capetonian who was so kind by showing me to my room and telling me a bit about Thabazimbi. Took a break and asked for guidance, jumped into the car and drove to Gerhard and Hanlè.
What can i say…. what kind folks to introduce myself to. A close family whose got lots of love to give and man, when you walk in you already feel the warmth and generous smiles running through the house. Boys and their dads playing paint ball games just having fun. Immediately i was ask to sit down (ducking for paint balls) and enjoy a sandwich with a cup of tea while waiting for the bride to arrive. With camera in hand taking pictures of people enjoying each other, felt like i was at home.
The day started and ran smoothly with beautiful decorations, smiling faces and two people making a promise to love and respect each other and taking a new step with God as their guidance. I had great fun! Drove back to the guest house that night to find myself awake the next morning with a hearty Thabazimbi breakfast made by Tony the Capetonian at Lalisa guest house …ready to travel back to Centurion.
Thank you! Gerhard and Hanlè for the opportunity to capture a whole new chapter in your lives. May God bless you and your children. Here is a few to photos for you to enjoy…

Well done, Garick. I always knew I had a beautiful sister, but you emphasized that and more. These photos is stunning and cannot wait to see more!
Thank you once again
Garick, your God given talent is not only portrayed in the beauty you capture on film but also in the way you present your faith and values. Thank you for capturing Hanlé and Gerhard’s day in such true form.
Some of the best photo’s I have seen of a wedding. It captured the spirit of my sister as a beautiful, yet relaxed woman very nicely. I am so sorry that I could not attend, as the family photo you took is one of my favourites – and I am missing!!
